A note on colors
A note on colors

For most of my life, I've been fascinated by the way, the color of a wall, an outfit, or any item, can -if not change your mood, at least make a great impact on you. The way certain colors are combined, can give you energy or even drain you. To me, this is the magic about colors, and I'd like to keep it like that; intuitive, subjective, a bit uncontrollable and full of contrasts. Everyone can have their own opinion, there is no right or wrong..

Besides being able to follow our producer’s work closely in Tuscany, one of the aspects, I cherish the most, being a designer, is I get to work with such a delicate and subtle thing as colors. As I mainly design classical pieces, rather than new collections every season, there will obviously be a lot of repetitions… So being able to tell new stories, and change the perception of a product, via colors, is something, I find truly inspiring and stimulating.

This process of observing, creating and combining colors, is anything but intellectual or theoretical for me. It’s rather a constant and organic process, of keeping my eyes and mind open to my surroundings. It´s about staying in contact with my intuition and trusting it. Making up new tones, combining them in different ways, and feeling how they can spark your interest and stimulate the senses, is a constant and endless source of inspiration. It’s a place with no rules, but lots of freedom. In many ways, it’s a little escape from reality.

But a great part of working with colors, is also about communication with you. And I always love getting your feedback and thoughts on the colors. The funny thing is, that you often seem to collectively agree on which tones, you like the most. So it seems, that there is some kind of common perception of, what is most beautiful. I wonder, if you’ll agree on the new tones, I'm currently working on. More about them, -and what they are for soon to come….
